What is a Parish visit?
Debbie shares her abortion and conversion witness to congregations during the Mass. Her witness helps those who have participated in abortion feel understood and offers them the hope that they too can receive God’s forgiveness and his gift of peace. This family friendly message will also make the community aware of the trauma and severe consequences that follow an abortion decision.
Why a Parish visit?
- Research shows that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in abortion, yet no one talks about it.
- Women and men are suffering silently, ashamed to admit their experience.
- Some do not realize abortion is the source of their suffering, as Debbie shares her witness and symptoms of trauma, some make the connection and recovery begins.
Why during the Mass?
It is the message of the Gospel. A sinner receives God’s mercy and forgiveness and experiences conversion and healing of the heart.
Those who suffer after abortion feel understood and experience hope as they witness the compassionate response from their pastor and parishioners.
Women and men who have participated in abortion are so ashamed; some feel they are the enemy. To hear this message in Church during Mass offers them the hope of being reconciled within the community of believers.
The audience that needs to hear Debbie’s message is in the pews at Mass. These women and men may feel too ashamed to come to a pro-life event, but according to Guttmacher Institute 28% of the women who have abortions say they are catholic.
The Mass is non-threatening; many will travel to attend.
